Fix "No Data Found" & Scraper Issues

Searching for a movie but getting zero results? Steps to unblock scrapers and find links instantly.

There is nothing more frustrating than clicking on a popular movie like Avengers or Breaking Bad and seeing the dreaded message: "No Data Found".

Since Ocean Streamz uses automated "scrapers" to find content on the web, this error usually means something is blocking the app from reaching those sources.

Is the server down?

Ocean Streamz does not host content, so there is no central server to "go down." If you see no links, the issue is almost always on your end (your ISP or device settings).

Method 1: Check Date & Time Settings

This sounds silly, but it is the #1 cause of this error on Firesticks.

Secure connections (HTTPS) require your device's clock to be synchronized with the server. If your date is wrong (e.g., set to 1970 or just off by an hour), the scraper connection will fail instantly.

  1. Go to Firestick Settings > Preferences.
  2. Click Date & Time.
  3. Ensure "Automatic" is turned ON.
  4. If it is already on, toggle it OFF and ON again to resync.

Method 2: ISP Blocking (The UK/US Problem)

Internet Service Providers (ISPs) like Virgin Media, BT, Sky, AT&T, and Comcast often block known streaming sources to prevent piracy. They call this "Child Safe" or "Web Safe" filtering.

Symptoms:

  • You get 0 links during the day, but some links late at night.
  • Real-Debrid links work, but free links do not.

The Fix: You must use a VPN to bypass these filters.

How a VPN helps:

It creates a tunnel through your ISP's wall. Your ISP sees encrypted data, not the websites you are scraping, so they cannot block the results.

Method 3: Reset Scrapers

Sometimes a specific scraper provider gets stuck or corrupted.

  1. Open Ocean Streamz Settings.
  2. Go to Performance (or 'Providers' in some versions).
  3. Click "Clear Scraper Cache".
  4. Restart the app and trying searching again.

Method 4: Verification (Real-Debrid)

Free scrapers are unreliable. They come and go. If you are relying on free links, you are scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Real-Debrid users access a completely different set of "Cached" links. Even if every free source is blocked or down, Real-Debrid usually returns 50+ 4K results.

Check your Real-Debrid subscription to make sure it hasn't expired. If it has, you will suddenly see "No Data".

Method 5: DNS Change

If you don't want to buy a VPN, you can try changing your DNS to Cloudflare (1.1.1.1). This bypasses basic DNS-level blocks used by some ISPs.

  • Install the "1.1.1.1" app from the Play Store / Downloader.
  • Run it and toggle it ON.
  • Restart Ocean Streamz.

Note: This is less effective than a full VPN but works for minor blocks.
